As of now, Pingdu boasts a robust false eyelash industry, with a regional industrial cluster centered in Dazeshan Township, and extending into areas like Old Store Town and Xinhe Town. This growth has transformed the false eyelash industry into one of the main economic drivers in Pingdu, contributing significantly to local employment and economic development. The industry’s success has helped Pingdu build a solid reputation not only in China but also in global markets, where its products are in high demand due to their quality and affordability.

The production of false eyelashes is far more complex than it may appear. According to Chen Dongliang, General Manager of Qingdao Nofan Times Eyelash Factory, the process involves several precise steps such as hair pressing, shaping, and tube peeling. Each step requires attention to detail to ensure the product’s quality. The industry offers a wide range of eyelash types, including eyelash extensions, daily wear, and thicker, more voluminous designs. There are further variations in density, length, color, and curl, providing customers with diverse choices to suit their individual preferences. Innovations in design and materials also contribute to the industry’s constant growth, keeping pace with ever-evolving beauty trends.

Despite the intricate production process, the technical barriers for entering the false eyelash industry are relatively low, leading to intense market competition. This competitive landscape has spurred innovation and pushed manufacturers to improve quality and production efficiency.
